John 1:18-28

John understood his calling, he pointed others to the Savior. His entire purpose is to direct attention away from himself and toward Jesus.  This is very different from how the world teaches us to live.  We live in a world where we are encouraged to build our name and reputation, seek recognition and promote ourselves.  John shows us a different way of living.  John shows us humility because he knew who Jesus is and how much he needed Jesus. “He is the one who comes after me, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.”  How can you point others to Jesus today?
