Easter Sunday

John 20:1-18

John tells us about the confusion of that early Sunday morning.  Mary Magdalene, grief stricken, went to the tomb, expecting a body.  She had stood by the cross and watched Jesus die.  After all that she had witnessed as she followed Jesus, where was her hope now?  Then came the turning point.  “Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned and said to him in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means Teacher).”  (John 20:16)  Mary’s confusion and grief changed when Jesus spoke her name.  Jesus calls His own by name and they know His voice.  Your resurrected Savior calls you by name, claiming you.  Through His death and resurrection, you are a welcomed and forgiven child of God.  Rejoice in our risen Lord!
