John 1:6-8, Malachi 3:1

God sent John the Baptist as a witness, announcing that the Savior people had long awaited had finally come. John’s role was not to draw attention to himself, but to point people to Jesus. He boldly prepared the way, pointing to Jesus.  In the same way, God calls us to be witnesses and live in a way that reflects Christ. It happens in everyday conversations, in how we respond to challenges, and in how we treat the people around us.  Look at where God has placed you—at work, at home, in your community. How can the Holy Spirit shine the love of Christ through you? How can your words, actions, and attitude point others to Jesus?
