John 10:17-21

Jesus willingly laid down His life for us. He was not forced to take on the sins of the world. He could have resisted arrest, walked away from His enemies, or stepped down from the cross. Out of perfect love and obedience to the Father, He chose to endure suffering and death on our behalf- bearing the full weight of our sin and condemnation. God sacrificed His own Son and condemned and punished Him for our sake.  All that to redeem us. See how the Father loves us!
