John 8:12-20
I recently went on a night hike with a group of 6th graders. No flashlights, no phones, no streetlights. We walked slowly and carefully, arms out, not knowing what was ahead of us and afraid of tripping. We lost our sense of direction and got disoriented and were surprised when we saw our cabin ahead of us. We walked in a circle and didn’t even realize it. That is what life is like without Jesus. Confused and disoriented, we stumble through this sinful life. But Jesus is our light, exposing our sin and showing us the way to heaven. Jesus’ light exposes our sin and guides us with His Word. We no longer stumble in the darkness. Now we live as children of the Light.
