John 2:13-25
In John 2, Jesus speaks of His body as the temple that would be destroyed and raised again in three days. The people around Him did not understand, but He was pointing ahead to His death and resurrection. Jesus’ body, the true dwelling place of God among His people, would be torn down on the cross. His body was broken for us. But Jesus tells them that His destruction will not be the end of the story. Through His resurrection sin, death, and the devil have been defeated. His victory is our victory. His resurrection assures us that the sacrifice is complete, death is not final, and eternal life is ours!
