Ash Wednesday-John 1:1-4

John opens his Gospel with an amazing revelation-Jesus is the Word.  Before creation, before time, before anything existed, the Word was already there—and that Word was with God and was God.  The same divine Word that spoke and created the world is now revealed to us in a person.  Jesus is God’s Word made visible, showing us what God is like and how God loves.  Through Jesus, God steps into our world and into our struggles to bring us life and hope.
