Safe Church Policy

Redeemer Lutheran Church strives to keep safe our children, youth, and adults. ALL volunteers working with children and youth must complete the following three steps below:

Safe Church Policy: Read, in full, our Safe Church Policy and sign the “Standards of Conduct and Safe Church Policy Acknowledgement” form found on page 11 (Appendix B) of our Policy and return it to the Church office. You also have the option of an e-signature instead of the paper copy by clicking the orange button below.

Background Check: Click the orange button below to request a background check. You will then receive an email with a link to authorize and complete the background check.

Mandatory Reporter Training: Complete the Mandatory Reporter Training through the Illinois DCFS (Department of Children and Family Services). The training video takes between 30-45 minutes to complete. When you finish, please print your certificate and turn it into the Church office. Alternatively, you can email an electronic copy or screenshot of the certificate to the Business/HR Manager, Keith Egland.

If you have completed this training within the last three years but not turned in the certificate or completed the training at your place of employment, you may print out your documentation with your name and date of completion, and then turn it in to the Church office (or email to Keith Egland).

Each of these three steps must be done every three years while volunteering with children and youth.

If you have any questions, contact Pastor Aaron Hickey at aaron.hickey@redeemerlutheran.com or Keith Egland (Business/HR Manager) at keith.egland@redeemerlutheran.com
