Births
Please notify the church office when you go into the hospital to have a baby so that we might be there for you. Moms helping Moms ministry will support you with a visit after delivery, providing devotional helps, a listening ear, and a meal for the family.
Baptisms
Baptism is important as a means by which God miraculously brings us into His family, we ask you to meet with a pastor to help you understand the miracle of God in baptism and also the responsibilities of Christian parents. Baptisms can be arranged by calling the church office at (309) 691-2333. Baptisms are generally during church services on non-communion Sundays. If you prefer a more private setting, you may request a time either just before or just after a scheduled worship service. Baptism should be joined together with Christian education and worship.
Weddings
Weddings at Redeemer are currently for members only. Our wedding worship service is, above all, Christ-centered, celebrating His love and blessings. Your Wedding Coordinator, the Pastor and the Director of Music Ministry share the desire that this proper emphasis be maintained. All couples are required to have premarital counseling with the Pastor before the wedding. Your wedding day is one of the most important and exciting days in your lives, and your marriage is ordained by God to last a lifetime.
In order to schedule your wedding at Redeemer, contact the church office at (309) 691-2333.
Moving
When moving within our area, please notify the church office to ensure that you receive the church mail. If you are moving from our area, please contact the church office to receive information on Lutheran churches in the area to which you are moving, so we can help you find a new church home.
Illness and Hospitalization
Please notify the church office at times of special illness and especially hospitalization. We do contact the three Peoria hospitals every day to see if any of our members are in the hospital (you must indicate membership at Redeemer on your admission sheet for us to be informed you have been admitted). If you would like to have communion prior to surgery or at some other time during hospitalization or illness, please notify the church office. You are invited to request prayers of the congregation for yourself and other loved ones who are ill, hospitalized, or in special need.
Funerals
To minister to you it is important that you notify one of the pastors at times of critical illness or death of a member of the congregation. When making funeral arrangements, please consider the church as a place for the celebration of the resurrection of our Lord and the hope of the life everlasting for those who die with faith in Christ.
