Ron Miller was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, in 1944. A 1966 graduate of the University of Iowa in Business Administration, he also earned his Bachelor of Divinity (1970) and a Master of Divinity (1973) from Concordia Theological Seminary. He has served at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Franklin, Indiana; St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana; and Trinity Lutheran Church in Des Moines, Iowa. Pastor Miller came to Redeemer from the Department of Stewardship and Financial Support as Seminary Resource Counselor at the Synod’s International Center in St. Louis, Missouri. He served in that capacity from 1985-1986. He has three children: Jeff, Jennifer and Julie. He also has one grandson and four granddaughters.

Jeff Shoumaker was born in Parkston, South Dakota in 1959. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Director of Christian Education Diploma from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. He served as a Director of Christian Education at Grace Lutheran Church in St. Petersburg, Florida (1981-1988), at Grace Lutheran in DeWitt, Iowa (1988-1993) and at Redeemer Lutheran (1993- present) in Peoria, Illinois.

Scott Ibe was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and began formal music training at age 7. He began playing the organ in church at age 11, and was installed as chief organist at Ebenezer Lutheran Church by age 13. His education includes studies at: Alverno College, Milwaukee; Concordia University, River Forest; The University of California, Los Angeles; Concordia University, Irvine; The Los Angeles School for the Performing Arts; and San Diego State University. He has served congregations in: Milwaukee, WI; Chicago, IL; New Berlin, WI; Glenview, IL; Santa Ana, CA; Oceanside, CA; San Diego, CA; Newport, RI; Arlington Heights, IL; and Peoria, IL. For 10 years he further served a number of these churches as a Junior High Social Studies teacher and K-8 music specialist. Scott has been serving Redeemer as Director of Music and Worship since 1996. Scott is a decorated Gulf War Veteran. Deployed to the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Storm, he served as Weapons Officer aboard the USS Kansas City, achieving the rank of lieutenant. Scott and his wife, Lorraine, have 3 children – Roxanne, Vincent, and Trisha.

Brian Steward was born in Clinton, Iowa, in 1978. He grew up in DeWitt, Iowa, and graduated high school in 1997. Brian attended Concordia University in River Forest, IL, where he graduated with a Director of Christian Education Degree. In the summer of 2000, Brian served at his home congregation, Grace Lutheran in DeWitt. From 2001-2004, Brian served as the Director of Christian Education at Zion Lutheran Church in Naperville, IL. On September 26, 2004, Brian was installed as Redeemer’s Director of Youth Ministries. He and his wife, Nicole, are fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Bulls and are also proud parents of a beautiful puppy named Lily.

Jennifer Snobeck was born in 1982 and grew up in Lombard, IL. Growing up Jennifer dreamed of working with children and always “played school” until she was finally old enough to teach Sunday School. Jennifer graduated from high school in 2000 and attended Concordia University in River Forest, IL. Throughout college Jennifer was blessed with field work opportunities at different congregations, including St. John’s Wheaton, IL. It was there, under the direction of Val Gaede, the Director of Children’s Ministry, that Jennifer found her love of children’s ministry. Jennifer did her DCE internship at St. Mark’s Lutheran church in St. Charles, IL from 2004-2005 focusing primarily on Children’s Ministry. Jennifer recently graduated this past May with a Director of Christian Education degree. Jennifer may be done with school, but she still can be found with a book in hand as she loves to read and enjoys learning new things.

Phyllis Call was born in Peoria in 1942. Phyllis and her husband Dale have 2 daughters and 2 sons as well as 8 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Phyllis was baptized and confirmed with her husband in 1967 at Redeemer. She began her work in Care Ministry under the instruction of its founder, Rosemary Irving, in 1994. Upon Rosemary’s retirement, Phyllis assumed the position of Director of Care Ministry.

Doris Dunham was born and raised in Cuba, Illinois. She earned a B.S. in Ed. from Western Illinois University. She taught fourth grade for 10 years, the last seven at Wilder-Waite in Dunlap, Illinois. Before coming to Peoria she taught in Glendale Heights and in Germany for the Dept. of Defense. Mrs. Dunham came to Redeemer in 1976 and began serving at Redeemer Preschool in 1980. She and her husband, Rusty have a daughter, Susie, a son-in-law, David, a son, Christopher, a daughter-in-law, Joy, and a granddaughter, Molly. If Doris is not at Redeemer with “her kids” on her lap, you will probably find her at home with her cats on her lap.
