Confirmation in the Lutheran Church is an important step in the discipleship life of the Christian. The overall objective of 10:27 Ministry is to help students:

 

• Develop a deeply rooted identity as a child of God

• Learn more about God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

• Develop solid Christian relationships with other students and adults

• Love God and live lives of worship, service and obedience to Him

• Continue to live out their mission of Celebrating Christ by Growing Up, Out, and Together

 

10:27 Confirmation is a two year program open to anyone in grades 6-9. The course contains a total of 12 modules, including in class, online, discipleship, and fellowship modules. For more information and yearly schedule options, please see the Confirmation Packet below.

10:27 Confirmation

Meets on Wednesday evening from 6:15 - 7:30 pm in Miller Hall. During Lent and Advent, worship starts at 6:00 pm with Confirmation class beginning once the service is over, running from approximately 6:45 to 7:45 pm.

 

Quarter 1: August 30 – October 11

Quarter 2: October 18 – December 6

Quarter 3: January 3 – February 21

Quarter 4:  February 28 – April 25

October 29: Confirmation Sunday and First Communion for 8th grade

November 10-11: CID Junior High Lock In

November 23: Thanksgiving Break – No class

December 13, 20, 27: Christmas Break – No class

January 19-21: Youth Quake

February 14: Ash Wednesday – No class

March 10 (Or April 14): St. Louis Day Trip

March 28: Holy Week – No class

March 29: Maundy Thursday – First Communion for 2nd year students

April 4: Spring Break – No class

April 26: Confirmation Dinner and Practice for 2nd year students

Confirmation Mentors

Each of the 8th grade Confirmation students are matched with an adult member in the congregation. The mentoring relationship fostors communication and spiritual development as the mentors help the students to explore and grow deeper in their faith. All mentors must have completed the

 

Safe Church Training.
